Purpose of the Role
To support the execution of mechanical maintenance activities for the 900 TPD Air Separation Unit (ASU) at Duqm, ensuring equipment reliability, plant availability, adherence to safety standards, and cost-effective maintenance practices, under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.
Job Responsibilities (KRA)
Project & Construction Phase
Work closely with the project and maintenance teams during construction of the 900 TPD ASU plant.
Assist in mechanical erection and installation activities of key equipment, including:
o Air compressors, expanders, and cryogenic pumps
o Cold box systems, piping, and static equipment
Support supervision of installation, alignment, and pre-commissioning checks.
Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, vendors, and internal teams for smooth execution and timely completion of mechanical works. Commissioning & Startup Phase
Participate in commissioning activities, testing, and plant startup.
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues during initial operation.
Support performance testing and stabilization of the plant. Operations & Maintenance Phase
Execute mechanical maintenance activities as per planned schedules.
Support development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Monitor equipment performance and report deviations to the Maintenance Manager.
Assist in root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and adherence to safety procedures.

Ensure maximum reliability and availability of all equipment.
2. Reliability & Troubleshooting
Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for critical failures.
Improve Reliability through structured maintenance practices.
Implement condition monitoring techniques (vibration, thermography, oil analysis).
3. Shutdown & Turnaround Management
Plan and execute annual shutdowns and major overhauls.
Coordinate with operations, contractors, and OEMs.
Ensure adherence to schedule, cost, safety, and quality requirements.
4. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with:
o HSE standards and company safety policies
o Cryogenic safety procedures
o Permit-to-Work (PTW) system
Drive a zero-incident safety culture.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control
Prepare and manage maintenance budgets.
Optimize maintenance costs and spare part inventory.
Ensure availability of critical spares for uninterrupted operations.
6. Continuous Improvement Drive initiatives in:
o Reliability enhancement
o Energy efficiency
o Digital and predictive maintenance systems
Job Requirements (KPI)
Experience Required
6–11 years in:
o ASU / Cryogenic / Industrial Gas plants (preferred)
o Steel /Ammonia
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in ASU mechanical systems
Advanced knowledge of rotating & static equipment
Hands-on experience in:
o Compressors, pumps, turbines
o Alignment, vibration analysis, troubleshooting
Ability to read P&IDs and engineering drawings
Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Experience with SAP & CAD drawing /3D model
Experience with piping isometric drawings
