Purpose of the Role
Health and Safety- Provide guidance to line management on implementing internal safety standards, industry consensus standard /guidance and for establishing sound contractor safety management systems. Serve as a field safety professional for the division by providing technical expertise on safety related matters. Provide guidance and support to line management on implementing safety standards, safety guideline. Coordinate and ensure safety related legal compliances. Serve as the Process safety subject matter expert by providing technical expertise on Hazard Study related matters. Provide guidance to team in implementing PSM standards, industry consensus standard /guidance and for establishing sound PSM systems from design stage.
Job Responsibilities (KRA)
Planning & Operations
a. Assist in creating and implementing divisional safety plans aligned with corporate objectives.
b. Develop H&S plans for operations in coordination with line managers.
Infrastructure Support
a. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance by planning audits, inspections, and documentation reviews.
b. Coordinate with internal teams to meet statutory safety requirements.
Safety & Environment Orientation
Support in risk assessment, Safety Culture establishment, PSM, Design Safety & CSM
Learning/Growth
a. Stay updated with evolving safety regulations, standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, IMS), and industry best practices.
b. Participate in internal and external training programs related to Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), Process Safety Management (PSM), and Emergency Preparedness.
c. Leadership establishment
Job Requirements (KPI)
- Support line managers and employees to ensure area of responsibility is compliant with H&S standards, regulations and guidelines.
- Legal compliance coordination.
- Risk & Emergency management.
- Must have idea on HAZOP, HIRAC and other risk assessment.
- Liaise with Managers to prepare H&S plans for Projects/services. Prepare H&S instructions and notices and assists with relevant training.
- Conduct HSE audits and workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and risks and highlights corrective measures required.
- Support implementation of OHS objectives, incident investigations and root cause analyses within the respective organization.
- Carryout review of submitted documentation as part of MIS process, identify gaps and report.
- Collect, analyse and reports on OHS performance, identifies problems and makes suggestions to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
- Collaborate with managers and employees to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment for OHS initiatives and performance.
- H&S KPI targets
- To provide technical support on development of internal PSM standards or improvements for existing standards.
- To provide technical consulting support for the development of internal PSM competencies throughout the organization by
- coordinating and conducting various training, coaching, consulting sessions.
- To improve the Process Safety hazard recognition skills of line management through participation in Safety studies, PSSR, audits, etc.
- To establish a uniform PSM system across the organisation
- To assist PSM team in addressing legal compliance related issues in view of local statutory requirement.
- To assist in global networking and sharing best practices between different agencies. To improve communication and deployment of PSM systems and standards.
- Zero injury of contractors to provide technical support on development of internal contractor safety standards or improvements in existing standards.
- 100% compliance to safety standard to provide technical support for the development of internal contractor safety competencies throughout the organization by coordinating and conducting various training, coaching, consulting sessions with line managers.
- Ensure achievement of Safety ABP.
- Ensuring Safety Activities at division are executed as per plan, including the following:
- Completion of Incidents Investigations / Safety Observations are resolved within stipulated timelines and logged in observation portal.
- Monitor Compliance to Safety Visit Plan for Officers
- Ensure Safety at Business Partner Units in specified Region by ensuring compliance to relevant Safety Standards, Job Hazard Identifications, imparting training to employees as per needs and providing guidance to the units.
- Conducting Physical / Virtual Safety Audits to ensure compliance to relevant Safety Standards and ensuring closure of OFIs raised.
